
On October 01, the geologist Jhonatan Rivera Rivera joined Project SARAI as a pre-doctoral researcher.
Jhonatan has a degree in Geology from the Industrial University of Santander “UIS” (2016). He has two master’s degrees: in Planning and Management of Natural Risks from the University of Alicante “UA” (2019) and Seismic Risk Analysis through Geospatial Technologies from the Polytechnic University of Madrid “UPM” (2022). His professional experience has been developed in Colombia, highlighting his year and a half in teaching and investigation at the “UIS” and the Geological Survey of Colombia “SGC” (2021-2022), as well as his two years and a half in the private sector (2016-2018).
Currently, he’s developing his doctoral thesis in Geomatics Engineering (ETSITGC, UPM) entitled Development of AI methodologies for the characterization and automatic prediction of ground deformation processes based on InSAR data under the direction of researchers Marta Béjan and Hector Aguilera, with the support of the Research Personnel Training program “FPI” (PRE2021-100044) in the frame of the SARAI project.
