GNSS Campaign in the Eastern Betic Shear Zone (EBSZ)

GNSS station is at Cerro Pedro López (Sierra Espuña, Murcia). From left to right: José J. Martínez Díaz (UCM), Jhonatan Rivera (UPM and IGME-CSIC), Alejandra Staller (UPM), Marta Béjar (IGME-CSIC), Juan Portela (UPM), and Guadalupe Bru (IGME-CSIC).

Between May 8th and 12th, 2023, researchers from IGME and the TERRA research group at UPM collaborated in the Province of Murcia to maintain and record data from the GNSS network led by Professor Alejandra Staller. This network consists of permanent and temporary stations (some of which were measured during the fieldwork) that allow monitoring of subsidence due to groundwater extraction in the Guadalentín Valley and the tectonic deformations of active faults in the Eastern Betic Shear Zone (EBSZ).
