Oriol Monserrat
SARAI PIOriol Monserrat holds a Ph.D. in aerospace science and technology from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2012) and a degree in mathematics from the University of Barcelona (2004). In 2003 he started working as a researcher in the Active Remote Sensing Unit of the Geomatics Institute. Since January 2014 works as a Head of the Remote Sensing Department of the Division of Geomatics at the Technological Centre of Telecommunications of Catalunya (CTTC-www.cttc.es) and as a Division Manager of the Geomatics division.

Michele Crosetto
SARAI PIMichele Crosetto holds a 5-year Degree in Civil engineer, Politecnico di Torino (Italy), (1993), a Specialization in Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and GIS, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ) (Switzerland) (1994-1995) and a PhD in Topography and Geodetic Sciences, Politecnico di Milano (Italy) (1998). From 2015 he works in CTTC as the Head of the Geomatics Division. Other experience: 2014-2015: Head of Remote Sensing Department. Institute of Geomatics. 2002-2013: Head of the Active Remote Sensing Unit. Cartographic Institute of Catalonia. 2001: Researcher. Joint Research Centre. 1999-2000: Auxiliary Agent of the European Commission.

Ana Barra
Anna Barra holds a master’s degree in Engineering Geology (Geology Applied to Engineering, Land Use Planning, and Risks) from Sapienza University of Rome (2013) and a bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences from Sapienza University of Rome (2009). She arrived at CTTC in March 2015, as a Visitor Researcher, holding a 9 months scholarship granted by the University of Rome Sapienza, and she is now a Research Assistant in the Remote Sensing Department (RSD) of the Geomatics Division (since March 2016). She is also doing the Ph.D. in the Geotechnical Engineering program at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) University.

Marta Béjar Pizarro
SARAI PIMarta Béjar Pizarro is a geologist who earned her Ph.D. in 2011 from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Institut de Physique du Globe in Paris (France). She works as a Researcher at the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) where she coordinates the Geohazards InSAR laboratory and modeling group.

Carolina Guardiola Albert
SARAI PICarolina Guardiola Albert holds a Ph.D. in hydraulic engineering and environment from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2004) and a degree in physics from the University Complutense of Madrid (1997). She has two postgraduate degrees: in geostatistics from the School of Mines of Paris (1998) and in hydrogeology from the International Foundation of Hydrogeology (2004). In 2006 she started working as a researcher in the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC). Currently, she is the President of the Spanish Chapter of the International Association of Hydrogeologists

Héctor Aguilera Alonso
ResearcherHéctor Aguilera Alonso has a Ph.D. in Soil-Water Science and Environment from the Complutense University of Madrid (2013), a degree in Environmental Sciences from the Autónoma University of Madrid (2002), and a degree in Mathematics from the UNED (2016). He has also a postgraduate diploma in Data Science from U-tad (2016). Since August 2020, he is a Technical Researcher at the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC), supporting data analysis and modeling in different scientific-technical projects.

Pablo Ezquerro
PostdocPablo Ezquerro obtained a Ph.D. in structures, foundations, and materials (2021) and a degree in Geological Engineering (2013) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Since 2015 he carries on his research work in the Geohazards and Climate Change division of the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) as a member of the InSARlab, specialized on InSAR remote sensing related to geohazards and subsidence due to groundwater extraction.

Guadalupe Bru
PostdocGuadalupe Bru holds a Ph.D. in Sciences Applied to the Environment from the Universidad de Almería (2018), a Master’s degree in Geotechnical and Earthquake Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2013), and a degree in Geological Engineering from the University Complutense of Madrid (2010). In 2012 she started working as a researcher in the Earth Observation Department of the Institute of Geosciences (CSIC-UCM). Since January 2021 she works in the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) as a member of the InSARlab, specializing in InSAR remote sensing related to geohazards.

Rosa María Mateos Ruíz
ResearcherDr. Rosa María Mateos has a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and an MBA in Engineering Geology from the UCM. From 1994 to 2012, she was responsible for the Delegation of the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) in the Balearic Islands. Currently, she works as a Researcher at IGME-CSIC in Granada. She is currently the Director of the Department of Natural Hazards and Climate Change at IGME-CSIC and Deputy Chair of the Earth Observation Expert Group of the EuroGeosurveys.

Joaquín Mulas de la Peña
ResearcherJoaquín Mulas de la Peña holds a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Official at the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) with the position of Head of Geological Hazards División in the Geoscientific Research and Prospective Department. Among his professional activities, the experience of more than 27 years in the management, coordination, and implementation of projects in lines related to Geological Engineering, Geotechnics, and Geological Risks stands out. He has been an Associate Professor at the University Complutense of Madrid (2003-2016); where he has taught the subjects of Seismology and Seismic Engineering and Applied Geology to Engineering in the career of Geological Engineer and In Situ Research in the Master.

Margarita Patricia Sanabria Pabón
TechnicianMargarita Sanabria holds a master’s degree in Environmental Research, Modelling and Risk Assessment from Polytechnic University of Madrid (2011), a master’s degree in GIS (2001), and a degree in geological sciences from Complutense University of Madrid (2000). After working in the private sector, in 2006 she joined the Information Systems Division of the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) as a GIS technician. Since January 2017 works as Head of projects and database service.

Aracely Lima
Aracely Lima is a candidate Ph.D. in Geomatics Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Magister in Geographic Information Systems from the San Francisco University of Quito, and Geologist from Ecuador Central University. Researcher accredited by SENESCYT. She works as researcher at Instituto de Investigacion Geologico y Energetico (IIGE).

Juan López Vinielles
PredocJuan López Vinielles is a predoctoral researcher at the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC). He graduated in Geological Engineering in 2014 from the Madrid School of Mines and obtained a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering also at the Madrid School of Mines in 2016. He has worked for FCC (a Spanish civil engineering company) in Saudi Arabia in 2017, and then joined the Geological Survey of Spain in 2018. This is his last year of his Ph.D., related to the application of radar interferometry to study mining-induced ground movements.

Roberta Bonì
ResearcherRoberta Bonì received her M.Sc. Degree in Applied Geological Sciences in 2013, and Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences in 2016, from the University of Pavia (Italy). Since December 2021 works as a researcher in the Dept. of Pure and Applied Sciences of the University of Urbino (Italy).

Roberto Sarro Trigueros
ResearcherRoberto Sarro Trigueros is a Mining Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2009), and Ph.D. in Engineering of Materials, Structures and Land program: Sustainable Construction, at the University of Alicante, Spain, (2019). His professional career has been entirely in the field of R&D, both in the Public Administration and private sector. He has been working in companies as FCC Construction, Ayming Group, and Novain Business Consulting, for 4 years doing not only scientific research but also administrative tasks such as proposal preparation and financial management of international (EU and Latin America) and national R&D projects. Since 2011, he works as a researcher at the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC).

Ángel Prieto Martín
TechnicianAngel Prieto holds a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (1996). IT specialist with 25 years of experience both in the private and public sectors. In 2003 he started working for the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC). Since 2014, he is the head of the Information Systems Development and Dissemination Unit.

César Husillos Rodriguez
TechnicianDegree in Physics from the University of Valladolid (2000), Master in Physics and Mathematics (2008), and Master in Geophysics and Meteorology (2013), both Masters from the University of Granada. Four years of experience as a teacher of programming languages, database design, SGBD managing, and Microsoft Office Suite in the private sector. Seventeen years of experience in the public sector: nine of them as a system manager and software developer in Python under a free licensed software environment (Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL), seven years as a website manager and designer with Drupal CMS (this period as a technician in the Andalusian Institute of Astrophysics, IAA-CSIC), and one year more as a WordPress manager and designer, geological services manager with ArcGIS in the IGME-CSIC.

Cristina Reyes Carmona
PredocCristina Reyes Carmona holds a degree in Geology from the University of Granada (2017) and she is a PhD student in Earth Sciences from the University of Granada (2019 to present). Since 2020, she is working in the Geohazards InSAR laboratory and Modelling Group (InSARlab) of the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC) on the application of satellite radar interferometry (InSAR) for the detection, characterisation and hazard assessment of active landslides.

Juan J. Portela Fernández
PredocJuan J. Portela Fernández is an engineer in Geomatics and Topography (2019) and a doctoral student in Geomatics Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). He currently works as a predoctoral researcher at the UPM.

Jhonatan Rivera Rivera
PredocJhonatan Rivera Rivera is a doctoral student in Geomatics Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (2022 – 2026), master’s degree in Seismic Risk Analysis through Geospatial Technologies from Polytechnic University of Madrid (2021), master’s degree in Planning and Management of Natural Risks from University of Alicante (2019) and geologist from Industrial University of Santander (2016). With two years of experience in the private sector (2016-2018) and two in the public and educational sector (2019-2021). Juan Carlos García Lopez-Davalillo
ResearcherJuan Carlos García-Davalillo is a full researcher of the Geological Risk and Climatic Change Department at the Geological Survey of Spain (IGME-CSIC), where he works at the Geohazards InSAR laboratory and Modelling and Geological Extreme Events and Heritage research groups. He is a member of the InSAR Terrain Motion Joint Research Unit (UNIRAD) between IGME and the University of Alicante and the Earth Observation and Geohazards expert group of The European Geological Surveys Consortium. At the end of 2016, he founded the IGME Aerial Works Service (STA-IGME) where he holds the position of Operations Manager and RPAS Pilot.

Jorge P. Galve Arnedo
Jorge P. Galve Arnedo received his B.A. degree in Geology, MSc degree in GIS and Remote Sensing and PhD. degree in Geology from the University of Zaragoza (Spain). He has developed his career in the Universities of Zaragoza, Cantabria, Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) and Granada. Currently, he is working as a senior postdoctoral researcher of the “Ramón y Cajal” programme in the Department of Geodynamics of the University of Granada. His research covers all the steps used to assess geohazards: (1) Identification and monitoring; (2) Susceptibility and hazard modeling; and (3) Risk assessment.
