El art\u00edculo, elaborado por personal investigador del Instituto Geol\u00f3gico y Minero de Espa\u00f1a (IGME-CSIC) y del Centro Tecnol\u00f3gico de Telecomunicaciones de Catalu\u00f1a (CTTC-CERCA), eval\u00faa la exposici\u00f3n de la costa espa\u00f1ola a los movimientos del terreno, utilizando datos del Servicio Europeo de Movimientos del Terreno (European Ground Motion Service, EGMS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los resultados proporcionan estimaciones del impacto socioecon\u00f3mico potencial de este tipo de fen\u00f3menos a lo largo del litoral espa\u00f1ol, territorio que destaca por su importancia tur\u00edstica global. Concretamente, la investigaci\u00f3n aporta, por primera vez, estimaciones detalladas de las carreteras, los edificios y la poblaci\u00f3n potencialmente expuestos. Como principal conclusi\u00f3n, se deduce que la costa sur y este de Espa\u00f1a (especialmente las costas andaluza y murciana) presenta un nivel de exposici\u00f3n significativamente mayor a los movimientos del terreno que la costa norte. Entre las principales causas, destaca el exponencial crecimiento tur\u00edstico en estas zonas del litoral durante las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, acompa\u00f1ado de un importante desarrollo urbano y de infraestructuras, as\u00ed como la existencia de condiciones clim\u00e1ticas menos favorables para la disponibilidad de recursos h\u00eddricos, circunstancia que ha llevado a la sobreexplotaci\u00f3n de acu\u00edferos, desencadenando, entre otros fen\u00f3menos, procesos de subsidencia por extracci\u00f3n de agua subterr\u00e1nea. A estos fen\u00f3menos, se suman los deslizamientos en superficie, que tambi\u00e9n representan una preocupaci\u00f3n considerable en muchos municipios de la costa sur y este de Espa\u00f1a, especialmente en aquellos situados en las proximidades de las distintas cadenas monta\u00f1osas que bordean estas zonas del litoral.
